Deltalina is back in new Delta air safety videos

ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines has a pair of new safety videos that are getting the attention of folks across the internet.

This isn't the first time that the Atlanta-based carrier's air safety videos have caught the attention of the viral video set.

In 2008, red-headed flight attendant Katherine Lee was dubbed "Deltalina" by fans who saw her in an air safety video from Delta that made its way to YouTube.

The new videos strike a tongue-in-cheek tone, while delivering the government-mandated safety instructions about the safety features of the aircraft.

Despite new flight attendants in the primary roles, for Deltalina's fans, she has a cameo in the videos -- with her smile and playful wag of her finger at someone who looks at smoking on board the plane.

Delta's new videos are being rolled out this month on board the carrier's flights.

FOX 5 anchor Amanda Davis arrested for DUI, reckless driving

ATLANTA -- FOX 5 news anchor Amanda Davis was arrested early Sunday for driving under the influence near Piedmont Park.

Atlanta Police Sgt. Gregory Lyon said Davis was arrested at around midnight after an accident on Piedmont Avenue near 14th Street. He said the crash scene suggested Davis was driving northbound in a southbound lane when her green Fiat collided head on with a black Toyota.

"Upon speaking with both drivers, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from Ms. Davis' person," Sgt. Lyon said in a statement. "He asked her if she had been drinking, to which she did respond in the affirmative."

Lyon said Davis refused to submit to a field sobriety test and the State Administered Chemical Test, but a DUI officer found probable cause to arrest her for impaired driving. 

In addition to DUI, Davis was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane. Her license was confiscated and she was taken to jail, according to Lyon.

School bus involved in 4-car wreck

COVINGTON, Ga. -- A Newton County school bus was involved in a chain reaction collision Monday morning.

The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 212 near Oak Hill Elementary School in Covington.

Georgia State Patrol confirmed a car left the school driveway and pulled in front of the bus. The bus could not stop in time and hit the car.

The bus then moved into the opposite lane and hit another car, which was then rear-ended by a pickup truck.

Newton County Schools spokesperson Sherry Viniard said the driver of the car that cut off the bus was thrown from her vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital in "very serious" condition. Investigators said the woman was a parent who had just dropped off her child at Oak Hill Elementary.

A parent and child in the car that was rear-ended were also taken to the hospital, Viniard said. Their conditions are not yet known.

A witness told 11Alive News the bus was full of Alcovy High School students. Viniard confirmed that 34 students were on the bus. Three were injured and taken to the hospital.

Rain headed into the metro today

ATLANTA -- Showers will be moving in ahead of a cold front during the afternoon. 

It looks likely to only be showers at this point, but keep an eye out for a rumble of thunder or two. 

Highs today will be in the upper 60s.  The chance for showers will remain in the forecast through tonight, but expect the sunshine to return to the area Tuesday. 

Tuesday will be cooler as high will only reach the upper 50s behind the cold front.

LEVI'S CALL | Missing teen found safe

GLENNVILLE, Ga. -- The GBI says a 14-year-old girl who disappeared from Glennville, Ga. over the weekend has been found in Norcross.

According to the GBI, Norcross Police found Griselda Cibrian safe Monday morning. No details were released, but 11Alive News has a crew on the way to Norcross.

Earlier, authorities said Cibrian was abducted from Glennville on Saturday afternoon. A Levi's Call, which is Georgia's version of an Amber Alert for abducted children, was issued Sunday.

Police believed the teen was abducted by a 24-year-old man, who was considered armed and dangerous.

They two were believed to have been traveling to Atlanta.

Bodies found in Southwest Atlanta

ATLANTA -- Two bodies were found in Southwest Atlanta Monday morning.

The first body was found shortly before 7 a.m. in the front yard of a home on South Gordon Street. That's near Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Cascade Avenue.

Atlanta Police Spokesman Sgt. Gregory Lyon said the man had been shot to death, but no other details were immediately available.

Another body was found at about 9:45 a.m. at a vacant house on 3rd Avenue. That's near Cleveland Avenue and Interstate 75.
