Downed tree blocking Moores Mill Road, causing outages

ATLANTA -- A fallen tree caused headaches for commuters and outages for residents on Moores Mill Road Monday morning.

The tree is blocking the entire road near West Wesley Road NW. 11Alive traffic anchor Elle Duncan recommends taking Peachtree Battle Road as an alternate.

Georgia Power said the tree knocked the power out for about 450 customers from Moores Mill to Northside Drive. Most of those customers are back online, but Georgia Power said nearly 80 will be without power until around 1:30 p.m.

Another tree fell on Sylvan Road at Burns Drive SW in East Point overnight. The southbound lanes of Sylvan Road are blocked, but the northbound lanes are still open.
