DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- DeKalb County students are still on holiday break Monday, but the school board is at work, with their first meeting of the new year Monday night.
Four new board members will be sworn in Monday afternoon to join the five who were sworn in last week.
The DeKalb board has big challenges ahead in 2013. They'll have to deal with SACS putting the system's accreditation on probation last month.
The board is accused of unethical behavior and money mismanagement including $12 million of debt for new textbooks that were never purchased.
The DeKalb District Attorney's office is investigating how that money was spent and if it involved criminal activity.
