ATLANTA -- Forecasters are warning of the potential for flash flooding in Georgia as rain continues to fall in many parts of the state.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for parts of north and central Georgia. It is scheduled to run until 1 p.m. Monday.

The flash flood watch includes several Georgia cities, including Atlanta, Athens, Columbus, LaGrange and Macon.
